|Summary of Project & Results:
||Our Featured Project showcases a long-term client and friend of Casilio. After first expanding the Community Health Center of Buffalo, a need arose for a Niagara based health center due to a shortage of medical professionals in the surrounding communities, and a high rate of chronic medical conditions in the area. Casilio successfully contracted 30% of the projects workforce through Minority and Women in Business organizations, which exceeded the State’s requirements. The development of the local health center was a project years in the making and grew out of a needs assessment commissioned by the hospital that found strong community support for additional primary and preventative care options in the Falls. The Community Health Center of Niagara (“CHCN”) included construction of a three-story, 23,000 square foot, Article 28 Medical Facility. This community health center will help Falls residents receive a variety of primary medical services for all ages regardless of the ability to pay. That includes pediatrics, women’s health, rapid HIV Testing, and full dental care services. Dr. LaVonne Ansari, CEO and executive director of the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc., said her organization was pleased to have received additional state and federal funds for HIV testing services. The health center grew out of a partnership involving the Community Center of Buffalo, Inc. and various local, state and federal agencies and funding organizations. An emphasis on preventative care at the health center will produce an estimated savings of $14 billion over the next decade. In addition to serving as Construction Manager, Casilio assisted in the site selection and site acquisition for the project.
